At I NEED YOU we believe in reinventing the term “readers”. Glasses are part of your identity and are an accessory that should not be overlooked. Reading glasses should be trendy and high quality. Which is what we have designed just for you. We created fashionable glasses that follow new age couture. Our modern glasses come in all different colors to allow you to emphasize your unique styles and communicate your personality through lenses.

SHORT HISTORY

In 1993, I NEED YOU was founded by Sabine and Uwe Gellermann, a pair of certified master opticians who set out to create high quality frames, reading glasses, sun glasses and sun readers.
In the beginning the company sold ready readers – reading glasses bought as and when needed. This was followed by the emergence of INY-Sunwear, a collection of sunglasses, and between 1999 and 2003, the company moved in to new premises in Volksdorf, in the north of Hamburg, Germany, and opened up a new branch of their business focusing on lenses.

Between 2007 and 2009 I NEED YOU introduced three new brands of lens and presented at a number of major optical fairs around Europe – including Milan, Paris and, of course, Munich. They also introduced FLXXreaders – ready readers crafted from memory material with highly coated lenses, to offer a high quality of eye wear.

I NEED YOU began to expand quickly in 2010 and 2011, agreeing partnerships with distributors in France, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Now, in 2015, we are proud to introduce I NEED YOU READERS in the USA, and we believe that I NEED YOU’s products offer some of the most innovative and high quality reading glasses available on the market today.
